In partnership with Aviation Research Center D un D centrs has finished a research with a sounding name – “Study of aircraft engine components dynamic properties for engines vibrodiagnostic technology research and complex demonstrator development”. The goal of this project was to implement engine diagnostics technology on a special rig and demonstrate effectiveness of such technology. D un D centrs has provided scientific base for this project and shared its experience in engine vibrodiagnostics. Read more about the project at Aviation Research Center website.

Planetary gearbox

D un D centrs has started a research Nr. 18 "Study of planetary gearbox dynamic properties for vibrodiagnostic technology research and demonstrator development" within Smart Engineering System, Transport and Energy ICC project (SESTE ICC). This research will provide a one of a kind planetary gearbox vibrodiagnostics technology, which is to be experimentally validated and verified. This is another step in vibrational diagnostics field.

  • D un D centrs has registered Vibropassport™ trademark. Vibropassport is a custom product, developed by D un D centrs, and serves as a complex of measures for diagnosis of gas turbine engines or any other machine or structure. Vibropassport includes majority of diagnostics methods developed and used by D un D centrs throughout the years.

  • D un D Centrs is providing research of aircraft engine components dynamic properties for engines vibrodiagnostic technology and complex demonstrator development. The goal is to increase flight safety and aircraft operation effectiveness, as well as maintenance cost reduction. This research is a part of a Smart engineering system, transport and energy ICC project. This project Nr.1.2.1.1/16/A/008 is being run from 1.07.2016 - 31.12.2018. Total EU funding for the project is 3 206 250 EUR.

  • SIA “D un D centrs” has successfully finished researches No 1.26 “Advanced monitoring technologies of rolling bearing vibration of transport and energetics equipment development and development of monitoring devices” and No 1.32 “Development of advanced monitoring technologies of rotating blades in machinery in transport and energetics equipment”.

  • 19.05.2015.
  • During a field study Nr. 1.32 “Development of advanced monitoring technologies of rotating blades in machinery in transport and energetics equipment” with the project “Transport Engineering ICC creation” a contract for equiping the third helicopter blade model has been signed and modal tests for the second model have been finished. During a field study Nr. 1.22 “Advanced monitoring technologies of gas and liquid pipelines vibration” with the project “Transport Engineering ICC creation” pipelines laboratory model tests have been finished and real-scale model tests have started.

  • During a field study Nr. 1.22 “Advanced monitoring technologies of gas and liquid pipelines vibration” with the project “Transport Engineering ICC creation” the first stage of the pipelines digital model has been finished and technical requirements for the pipeline real model has been developed. During a field study Nr. 1.32 “ Development of advanced monitoring technologies of rotating blades in machinery in transport and energetics equipment” with the project “Transport Engineering ICC creation” modal tests of a helicopter blade model has been conducted and its dynamic properties have been determined.

  • D un D Centrs has started a field study “Advanced monitoring technologies of gas and liquid pipelines vibration” with the project “Transport Engineering ICC creation”. In order to do that, Transport Engineering ICC and Latvian Investment and Development Agency has concluded a contract Nr. L-KC-11-0002 on the 6th of April 2011. The main goal of the study is to work out adaptive monitoring technology of gas and liquid pipelines vibration. This technology will provide safety for pipelines and increase of its economical effectiveness.

  • D un D Centrs has started a field study “Development of advanced monitoring technologies of rotating blades in machinery in transport and energetics equipment” with the project “Transport Engineering ICC creation”. In order to do that, Transport Engineering ICC and Latvian Investment and Development Agency has concluded a contract Nr. L-KC-11-0002 on the 6th of April 2011. The main goal of the study is to work out adaptive blades monitoring technology of transport and energetics equipment, by controlling its dynamic characteristics in real time.

  • Transport Engineering ICC in cooperation with D un D Centrs, Siltums & Enerģētika, and Vibration-acoustics Laboratory, has started a field study “Advanced monitoring technologies of rolling bearing vibration of transport and energetics equipment development and development of monitoring devices” with the project “Transport Engineering ICC creation”. In order to do that, Transport Engineering ICC and Latvian Investment and Development Agency has concluded a contract Nr. L-KC-11-0002 on the 6th of April 2011.
    Projects' goal – development of monitoring equipment prototype and adaptive rolling bearings vibration monitoring technology that will provide operational machinery and equipment economic effectiveness increase. In the result, an advanced monitoring technology for bearings of transport, energetics and industrial machinery, as well as an experimental model of equipment for rolling bearings vibration monitoring (prototype) will be created and tested.

    The prototype will include vibration and rotation rate sensors, the device and a computer, as well as software for realization of theoretical base of the technology. With this technology it will become possible to continuously or periodically monitor any type of transport, energetics or industrial machinery. In the meantime, the prototype will demonstrate the effectiveness of the technology application during operation and repair of machinery, and will prove expedience of the technology integration, in order to decrease maintenance costs, idle time and increase safety and competitive ability.

  • Joint presentation “Unified advanced HUMS and maintenance system for “RH” helicopters” (jointly D un D centrs and “Russian Helicopters”) took place on European Helicopter Forum 2013 in Moscow.

  • We have started new experimental program of vibration diagnostic techniques based on “Aviation Research Center” new facilities. The program includes experimental studies and validation of vibration diagnostic techniques of: aviation gas turbine engine bearings and gas path; helicopter drive train bearing and gearbox; main rotor gearbox, blades and swash plate bearing, etc.
  • In May, 2013
  • D un D centrs has been awarded by the contract for modal testing of models of new composite main rotor blades with leading Mil helicopters manufacturer OAO “Kazan Helicopters”.
  • In November, 2012
  • New experimental program has been started in co-operation with Flanders’ Mechatronics Technology Center. The program was supposed to check capabilities of new adaptive technique of bearings vibration diagnostics. Serial tests have confirmed high effectiveness of new technique and provided new opportunities for the method development.

  • D un D centrs have been awarded by the contract with OAO “Russian Helicopters” for development of new concept of Health and Usage Monitoring Systems for helicopters of “RH” brands.
  • In September, 2011
  • Jointly with Riga Technical University, Transport & Telecommunication Institute and aircompany “RAF-AVIA” new Aviation Research Center was created. The Center’s main activities are R&D works, testing in the area of advanced techniques of aircraft condition monitoring, maintenance and specialists training.

  • On 37th European Rotorcraft Forum, which took place in Milan (Italy), joint “Russian Helicopters” and “D un D centrs” paper NEW DIAGNOSTIC TECHNIQUES FOR ADVANCED ROTORCRAFT MONITORING SYSTEM was presented.

  • A contract was awarded with “Russian Helicopters”, Russia for research & development of advanced techniques for helicopter condition monitoring systems.
