The research study “Complex Demonstrator of Aircraft Perspective Vibration Diagnostic Technologies” have been successively completed. The research was conducted within the project No.1.2.1.1 / 18 / A / 001 of Energy and Transport Competence Center. The operating demonstrator of advanced techniques and the diagnostic system of helicopter aggregates, including the fuselage and rotor with blades have been developed. As the technologies demonstrator the serial aircraft acted also, on which the modal testing techniques and equipment developed within project frames. On the way of experimental testing the capabilities of the system were studied aimed for damage identification of the fuselage and rotating blades. Restrictions related to oronavirus pandemic interfered with the demonstration alive at Riga airport. Despite of that, the demonstration of promising structural health monitoring technologies have been conducted using modern means of communication. Representatives of companies from Denmark, Switzerland, Germany, Italy, Poland and Russia were introduced into the demonstrator, testing procedures and results using presentations with video and audio materials.
In the first quarter of 2021, studies of the previous stages were successfully completed and positive results were obtained, including the scale of artificially introduced defects to demonstrate the capabilities of a promising helicopter diagnostic system, as well as diagnostic results that convincingly confirm the ability to carry out on-line monitoring of a helicopter in flight. The applicability of vibrodiagnostics methods for the structures of an operating ATR-72 aircraft in ground conditions has been confirmed.
25th January 2021The test series have been completed in December 2020 in which the demonstrator of advance Structural Health Monitoring system based on operating KA-26 helicopter was used. The tests of the demonstrator was aimed for practical estimation of system’s sensitivity to seeded faults of rotating blades and the tail boom. As the pandemic situation limits opportunities for above demonstrations alive, we prepared the presentation that illustrates some details of the demonstrator, the tests and the results, which can be opened here.
7th October 2020The most important research stage of operational helicopter modal testing is successfully completed. The modal properties of both fixed and rotating helicopter structures are identified in both frequency and shape domains. The resolution capabilities of advance vibration diagnostic are determined. The system applying the novel “modal passport” approach is able for detection the local failures both fixed and rotating
7th July 2020Initial stage of research works is conducted to estimate the potential economic effect of vibration diagnostic techniques application in technical maintenance of aircrafts. At the same time the research works are going to optimize the scale of seeded faults required for more convincing demonstration of advanced system capabilities of actual failures detection on the operating helicopter.
9th April 2020In the 1st quarter of 2020 the set of multichannel equipment for testing control and management has been delivered and assembled on board of the helicopter. The system has been tested and prepared for research study works on operational helicopter.
6th January 2020To the end of 2019 the onboard measurement system has been assembled on the helicopter. Multichannel DAU, remote control switchers and data transmitting equipment has been tested and prepared for laboratory research study stage.
3rd October 2019Within frames of the research study “Demonstrator of Aircraft Perspective Vibration Diagnostic Technology Complex” in 3rd quarter of 2019 have been completed assembling and testing works. Also FE modelling and computation works are made for helicopter natural modes identification.
1st April 2019D un D centrs launches a study inside project No.1.2.1.1 / 18 / A / 001 within the Energy and Transport Competence Center. The smart specialization chosen by the ETCC is smart energy, which includes three research sub-themes: Smart Energy General Issues; Intelligent engineering systems and power generation solutions; Smart energy and transport. The project is being implemented from April 1, 2019 until December 31, 2021. The total amount of ERDF support for the project is EUR 4 708 111.50.
Our study is No. 4 “Demonstrator of Aircraft Perspective Vibration Diagnostic Technology Complex”. The purpose of the study is to realize the stand on which the development of vibration diagnostics technologies can be performed on any type of aircraft. This stand is also needed for demonstration and promotion of new technologies. The study is being implemented from 1 April 2019 to 30June 2021.
In partnership with Aviation Research Center D un D centrs has finished a research with a sounding name – “Study of aircraft engine components dynamic properties for engines vibrodiagnostic technology research and complex demonstrator development”. The goal of this project was to implement engine diagnostics technology on a special rig and demonstrate effectiveness of such technology. D un D centrs has provided scientific base for this project and shared its experience in engine vibrodiagnostics. Read more about the project at Aviation Research Center website.
D un D centrs has started a research Nr. 18 "Study of planetary gearbox dynamic properties for vibrodiagnostic technology research and demonstrator development" within Smart Engineering System, Transport and Energy ICC project (SESTE ICC). This research will provide a one of a kind planetary gearbox vibrodiagnostics technology, which is to be experimentally validated and verified. This is another step in vibrational diagnostics field.
D un D centrs has registered Vibropassport™ trademark. Vibropassport is a custom product, developed by D un D centrs, and serves as a complex of measures for diagnosis of gas turbine engines or any other machine or structure.
